The Portland Maine Airport

The Portland Maine airport, officially known as the Portland International Jetport, always makes me smile, because if you've been to some major metropolitan airports around the world, this airport of ours will remind you of a bus station. You can stand in the middle of the terminal and stretch out your arms and practically touch either end - there's no getting lost in this airport!

It's simple, it's quick to navigate, takes about two minutes to get in and out of there - I love the Jetport.

Inexpensive? Parking here costs about half as much as parking at big-city airports, and you'll find that the nearby hotels are a fraction of the cost of other cities.

Not only is the Jetport less than ten minutes from Maine’s largest city, it's also a convenient gateway to the southern Maine beaches region, the mountains to the West, or north to Downeast Maine and Acadia National Park.

Very close to the airport you'll find a lively business center, charming shops, fine restaurants and Maine's largest shopping mall. For more information on all there is to see and do in Greater Portland and beyond, you can always stop by the Visitor Center in the passenger terminal.

If you're traveling without a car, the Greater Portland Transit District METRO provides bus service throughout Portland, Westbrook, Falmouth and the Maine Mall area of South Portland.

METRO Route #5 travels to and from the Portland Jetport into downtown Portland with connections to other METRO routes, Amtrak, South Portland Bus and ZOOM (with connections to Biddeford, Saco and Old Orchard Beach).

The Hilton Garden Inn is within walking distance, though they also provide shuttle service if the Maine weather isn't smiling on you that day...
